]]>The purpose of life is enlightenment.
~SPH Nithyananda Paramashivam
Enlightenment means having the ultimate truth, the most powerful ultimate truth as our operating inner software.
Living Enlightenment means vibrating in the frequency of the Cosmic Constitution, Cosmic truths, and Universal truths; reverberating with the principles of the Universal truths.
Nithyananda Hindu University’s schools explore science to radiate our highest potential.
Paramashiva explains, first, a person needs to start practicing, the preparations, it’s called chariya, like, you do Pooja9, you do yoga, you do pranayama10, you apply basma11, wear rudhraksha12.. all these, lifestyle practices.
Then you start doing Kriya, tuning your body and mind to the higher realms, that is Kriya.
Then connecting with those higher realms, that is yoga, and living in that higher space itself is jnana.
At Nithyananda Hindu University knowledge transmission is complete only when it becomes a lifestyle practice.

One gains 1⁄4 of the knowledge from the Acharya (the teacher), 1⁄4 from his own self-study and intellect, 1⁄4 from his classmates, and the remaining 1⁄4 is gained as a person becomes mature as time passes.
– SanskritSubhashitam
The SPH Bhagwan Sri Nithyananda Paramashivam, when explaining Sarvajnottarāgama very beautifully explains:
“When you learn from the teacher, one quarter you learn; when you discuss among the friends, you learn the next 25%, when you ask him questions and get clarified, you learn the next 25%. Only when you start teaching, you learn the last 25%”
The Shanti mantra concept is unique only to the Hindu education system.
The very education process in Hindu tradition is awakening you. It is not just giving some words, ideas, concepts, theories, theologies. It is awakening you. So in this whole process of awakening, so much patience is required from the side of the student. So much understanding is required from the student’s side. The Shanti mantra sets the context of the Hindu education system.
“Let both of us be together and protected. Let us not hurt each other.
Let us not cherish enmity towards each other. Let us not cherish anger towards each other”.
All of us know master cannot cherish anger towards the disciple. Why does the line say “Let both of us not cherish anger”? Because there is always the possibility that the disciple may have self-doubt. “Maybe my ignorance is being exploited. He is not only teaching me, he is constantly putting me down.”

]]>Nithyananda Hindu University is the revival of the most ancient knowledge transmission system. It is the oldest university as per known records – that was first started in Kailaasa1 by Paramashiva2 Himself and then established in various sacred places such as Naimisharanya3, Varanasi4, Kanchi5, Mathura6, Avathika7, etc – the Mokshapuris8.
Due to multiple invasions and illegitimization of the Vedic education system in the home countries, this knowledge transmission system was almost lost. An important understanding is that this was not an education system but a direct download process of the cosmic truths from the source – and is hence a knowledge transmission system.
The last living person to revive this system, The Supreme Pontiff of Hinduism (SPH) His Divine Holiness Bhagwan Sri Nithyananda Paramashivam is fortunately reviving this knowledge transmission system. Nithyananda Hindu University was conceived with this objective by SPH Bhagwaan Sri Nithyananda Paramashivam in 2001 and legitimized by the establishment of the University in the United States in 2007.
In 2007, His Divine Holiness Bhagwan Sri Nithyananda Paramashivam established the first enlightenment ecosystem in Los Angeles for the Western world. The University space of over 25,000 square feet, was infused with Cosmic Energy by Him, who blessed the temple to be the pinnacle of the Vedic tradition to the Western world.
Over 80 Deities reside at the temple/university complex, embodying the diversity of Hindu sacred sentiments. To date, it houses the largest Shiva Linga and Rajarajeshwari Devi in North America.
His Divine Holiness Bhagwan Sri Nithyananda Paramashivam has personally hand-finished and energized the magnificent deity of Lord Venkateshwara. After prana pratishta (breathing cosmic life-energy) was performed by His Holiness, the deity graces Sri Nithyananda Venkateshwara in Southern California as its largest and most blissful manifestation of Sri Vishnu. The vision is to create a golden shrine for the Lord as an exact replica of the sanctum of Tirumala Tirupati Venkateshwara.
Nithyananda Hindu University draws inspiration from the millennia-old Vedic tradition of ancient India, the oldest living stream of transformational science in the world today. The pragmatic Vedic civilization is credited with many significant ‘firsts’ in the fields of yoga, medicine, astronomy, mathematics, and navigation, among others. Reinterpreting Vedic wisdom in the light of modern life and needs, Nithyananda Hindu University creates the space for the powerful transformation of the individual and the community.

]]>The Shaiva Agamas (Agamas that belong to the Hindu Shaivite tradition) are a compendium of texts that cover various theoretical and practical aspects of life, worship, sciences, and understanding of the cosmos for Hindus who follow Shaivism. The origin and practice of Shaiva traditions go back to Lord Paramashiva (the primordial Guru). Although scholars provide supporting proof to date the origin of Shaivism, it is well established that the practice pre-dated the recording.
Twenty-three Sarvagjnapeethas (the all-knowing seat) were established by Lord Paramashiva on planet Earth to establish the super-science of Living Enlightenment in Nalanda, Taxila, Kanchipuram and 20 other locations. His Divine Holiness Bhagwan Sri Nithyananda Paramashivam is reviving this ancient authentic knowledge system through the NHU. NHU is the world’s largest Hindu university with the largest modern-day assembled repositories of ancient sacred vedic texts – the Vedas and Agamas. Thus, followers of Paramashiva as initiated by The SPH Bhagwan Sri Nithyananda Paramashivam follow a well-established, ancient tradition even today.
